Reese Oona B. Pascual, a Grade 6 Isidorean, was elected as Secretary of the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) while representing the City of Malolos as its Child Representative during the PCPC Advancing Meaningful Child Participation: Capacity Building and Election of PCPC Child Representatives, held on October 21, 2026, at Francisco Balagtas Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, City of Malolos.

Oona’s election reflects the trust placed in her potential as a young leader and her commitment to promoting children’s rights and welfare. Through her active participation, thoughtful contributions, and willingness to share her perspectives, she demonstrated that young people have meaningful roles to play in conversations and initiatives that directly affect their lives.
The gathering brought together young representatives from cities and municipalities across Bulacan to deepen their understanding of children’s rights, strengthen their leadership capacities, and recognize the importance of children’s active participation in matters concerning their welfare.

Accompanying and guiding Oona throughout the event was Teacher Brenelli S. Francisco, whose experience as a former youth leader added a meaningful dimension to her guidance and support.
One of the significant moments of the activity was the sharing of ideas and perspectives on child participation. During a discussion, Oona expressed her understanding of a child, saying:
“A child is not just a human being who has been born. We are sheltered with our families and know little about the world around us yet. Therefore, a child is someone who needs to be protected.”
Through Oona’s active participation and meaningful contributions, both Isidore de Seville Integrated School and the City of Malolos were well represented. She exemplified the values of an Isidorean by participating with confidence, sharing thoughtful ideas, and embracing an opportunity to serve the wider community.

This opportunity would not have been possible without the support of the Malolos Local Youth Development Office, headed by Mr. Bryan Paulo S. Santiago, City Local Youth Development Officer, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office, headed by Ma’am Lolit Santos. Their commitment to youth empowerment and child welfare has helped create opportunities for young individuals like Oona to participate in meaningful initiatives and take on leadership responsibilities in the community.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to Oona’s parents, Mommy Roselyn B. Pascual and Daddy Mark Thomas Pascual, and her sister, Elijah Pascual, for their support, encouragement, and guidance, which continue to nurture her growth and confidence. We likewise thank Teacher Arcelita J. Gaspar, School Principal, and Teacher Ann Marie S. Bartolome, School Administrator, for supporting opportunities that broaden our learners’ perspectives beyond the classroom and encourage them to become responsible, compassionate, and socially aware citizens.
Congratulations, Oona, on your election as Secretary of the PCPC!
Mabuhay ang batang Maloleño! Mabuhay ang batang Isidorean! Salamat sa Diyos!
