Protecting a child requires the shared commitment of the school, family, learners, and community. Guided by this belief, Isidore de Seville Integrated School convened its Child Protection Committee for SY 2026-2027 on September 11, 2026, to strengthen the school’s policies and procedures for ensuring the safety and well-being of every Isidorean.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Ann Marie S. Bartolome, School Administrator; Dr. Arcelita J. Gaspar, School Principal; Ms. Marie Rose Villano, Guidance Coordinator; Ms. Jonalyn Trinidad, SPTA President; Teacher Patricia Coleen Cortez, SPTA Secretary; Zamara Louese V. Lapuz, SELG President; and Ms. Lulu Enriquez, Administrative Staff of Barangay Mojon.

Central to the discussion were the principles that guide the Child Protection Committee. The participants emphasized that every learner deserves to study in an environment where they feel safe, respected, accepted, and free from fear. They also recognized that protecting children is a collective responsibility that calls for attentiveness, compassion, confidentiality, and immediate action when concerns arise.

The committee reviewed the proper protocol for reporting incidents. Having a clear reporting process ensures that every concern is documented, handled promptly and sensitively, and referred to the appropriate persons. It also allows the school to provide necessary guidance and support while protecting the rights and dignity of everyone involved.

Isidore strongly reaffirmed that corporal punishment has no place in the school. Any form of discipline that causes pain, fear, humiliation, or emotional harm is contrary to the school’s child-centered values. Instead, Isidore promotes positive discipline that helps learners understand the consequences of their actions, correct their behavior, and develop responsibility and self-control.

To ensure an organized and effective response to child-protection concerns, the members and specific roles of the Child Protection Committee were also discussed. Each member contributes a valuable perspective. With the school, families, learners, and Barangay Mojon working hand in hand, Isidore continues to build a community where children are protected, their voices are heard, and their dignity is always upheld.

With the inspiring theme "Leadership Begins with Me," Isidoreans gathered for the Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) 2026 on July 18, 2026, at Isidore. The activity aimed to develop learners' responsibility, confidence, teamwork, and the values essential to becoming effective leaders within the school community.

The program commenced with an invocation led by Mathea Allexa Enriquez of Grade 5-Atanasoff, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Jhaiver Axel Paulo of Grade 6-Babbage. Elijah Mari Pascual of Grade 4-Hopper delivered the welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of unity, cooperation, and active participation in building a strong and supportive school community.

In her inspirational message, Dr. Arcelita J. Gaspar, School Principal, encouraged learners to embrace leadership by being responsible, disciplined, and committed to serving others.

The seminar's highlight was an engaging and meaningful session facilitated by Teacher Marie Rose Villano, Guidance Coordinator and guest speaker. She inspired the participants with powerful reminders about the true essence of leadership:

"A leader is not someone who has the loudest voice. A leader is someone who has the kindest heart. A leader is not someone who always goes first. A leader is someone who helps others move forward."

She further emphasized that leadership is not about being better than others but about helping others become better. Encouraging learners to begin leading in their own simple ways, she concluded with the inspiring message:

"So starting today, don't wait to become older. Don't wait to become class president. Don't wait to become famous. Leadership begins with one simple person… ME."

The program was smoothly facilitated by Teacher Trisha Ignacio, Lead Facilitator. Meanwhile, Teacher Merlyn Villanueva, Learner Activity Coordinator; Teacher Jessica Miranda, Assistant Learner Activity Coordinator; and Sir Rein Teodoro, Intermediate Teacher, guided participants through interactive games and team-building activities that strengthened communication, collaboration, trust, and camaraderie among learners.

The event concluded with the closing remarks of Teacher Marjorie Fajardo, Head Teacher, who reminded participants that leadership is not defined by titles or positions but by the willingness to serve, inspire, and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The successful conduct of LTS 2026 was made possible through the dedicated leadership and preparations spearheaded by Ms. Cristy Rose U. Umali, SELG Adviser, together with the support of the school administration, faculty, and staff.

Through this meaningful leadership seminar, Isidoreans were reminded that true leadership begins within oneself. By practicing kindness, responsibility, integrity, and service, every learner has the power to inspire others and create positive change.

Newly elected officers of the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG), Classroom Officers, Grade-Level, and the School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) officially took their oath of office during the Induction of Officers for School Year 2026-2027 held on Friday, July 17, 2026.

The induction of the SPTA officers was administered by Dr. Arcelita J. Gaspar, School Principal, with the assistance of Ms. Merlyn Marie N. Villanueva, Learner Activity Coordinator, and Ms. Jessica Miranda, Assistant LAC.

A turnover ceremony followed, during which outgoing SPTA President Ms. Donabel G. Vialu formally handed over leadership to the newly elected SPTA President, Ms. Jonalyn Trinidad.

The newly elected SELG, Classroom, and Grade-Level Officers also took their oath of office, officially accepting their roles as learner leaders for the school year. Together with Teacher Archie and Ms. Cristy Rose U. Umali, the SELG Adviser, they pledged to fulfill their responsibilities with honesty, accountability, and dedication to serving the Isidorean community.

The successful conduct of the ceremony was also made possible through the preparations led by Teacher Patricia Coleen Cortez, SPTA Secretary, and Teacher Marie Rose Villano, Guidance Coordinator.

With their oath, the newly inducted officers accepted the responsibility of leading by example and working together to support programs and activities that will benefit Isidoreans and the entire community.
