Isidore was successful in its first year of integrating robotics to education. The robotics program gained significant momentum in enhancing the learning experience of our dear Isidoreans. As such, continuous learning for teachers is vital in ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach and facilitate robotics classes.
Thus, it is essential that teachers pursue continuous learning to guarantee that they have the skills and knowledge needed to effectively teach and facilitate robotics classes.
Isidore teaching partners joined the two-day Robotics Seminar-Workshop facilitated by Felta Multi-Media Inc., Isidore’s partner for robotics education, on June 26 and June 27, 2024.
The first day of the training includes review of the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime kit, its parts and functions of each. The teachers were given a series of challenges in line with real-life situations. For instance, the teachers were given the challenge to build and design a robot that can help in running a farm, such as making the robot pick the fruits and vegetables and place them in their proper places. Using the SPIKE Prime program, teachers practiced their problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration to successfully carry out the given tasks.
Meanwhile, discussion and application of different codes were the highlight of the training’s second day. Teachers worked in groups and had the opportunity to experiment with coding to move the robot according to certain events and scenarios.
To express gratitude to the Felta instructors, Mr. Kenneth E. Aborde and Mr. Jovin N. Cinco, for their invaluable contribution in providing the teachers with the robotics training, Teacher Jocelyn G. Dalusung, the Isidore Robotics Coordinator, and Teacher Arcelita J. Gaspar, the School Principal, presented them with a certificate of appreciation.
The practical insights the teachers gained during the seminar-workshop can help in the application of robotics in the classroom, empowering them to effectively facilitate student learning in robotics and foster a conducive learning environment.
This seminar-workshop is one of the many continuous training programs being provided to Isidore teaching partners to prepare them for the upcoming school year.
