Tiny Steps, Big Discoveries: Isidore Completes Preschool Readiness Week

Isidore successfully concluded its Preschool Readiness Classes for SY 2026-2027. Running from May 4 to May 8, 2026, the five-day program was designed to provide first-time preschoolers with a warm and engaging transition into formal education through a blend of play-based learning and foundational academics.

Under the guidance of preschool teachers Teacher Mary Rose Caparas and Teacher Marjorie Fajardo, the young learners participated on a journey that turned first-day jitters into a confident start.

“I am so happy to witness the kids’ progress each day,” shared Teacher Mary, the preschool Lead Teacher, as she observed the children growing more comfortable in their new environment.

The Readiness Classes introduced essential concepts. Throughout the week, the children explored the “Big Five” of the alphabet and numbers, learning the sounds and shapes of the vowels A, E, I, O, and U. The classrooms also resonated with the rhythm of numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, laying a strong groundwork for early literacy and numeracy skills. Art served as a vital bridge between creativity and cognitive recognition, with each day featuring hands-on activities centered around a specific palette of red, purple, green, orange, and blue. By linking these colors to creative projects, the teachers ensured that visual identification became second nature while the kids developed their fine motor skills.

Beyond academics, the program focused heavily on social development. For many, this was their first sustained interaction with a peer group. The children were trained in vital practices such as waiting for their turn, following instructions, and the rewarding experience of making new friends. These social pillars are intended to build the confidence necessary for a successful academic career.

To keep families connected to these milestones, the teachers provided the preschool first-timers with comprehensive narrative reports detailing their individual progress. Each child also received a portfolio containing their day-to-day activities, serving as a tangible record of their very first week of school.

As the program wrapped up on May 8, these young learners didn’t just leave with art projects and new knowledge, they left as part of the Isidore community. The fun learning adventure is just beginning!
