Isidore’s Virtual Parent Orientation for S.Y. 2024-2025 Thrives Despite Challenging Weather Conditions: Laying Down Strong School and Parents Partnership

Originally scheduled to be an in-person event, Isidore de Seville Integrated School successfully held a virtual parent orientation today, Friday, July 26, 2024. Despite the challenging weather, it was a remarkable event bringing together very willing parents to welcome the school year 2024-2025.

The preschool session began at 8:30 a.m. and the grade school session began at 10:30 a.m. The Virtual Parent Orientation started with an invocation led by T. Jo and Sir JM, followed by the National Anthem led by Teacher Nicole and Teacher Claire.  On the other hand, Teacher Arcelita J. Gaspar, the School Principal, gave her opening remarks. One of the vital things she cited is John-Jacques Rosseau’s statement, “There is one developmental procedure common to man. It was a built-in natural process in which the main behavioral manifestation is curiosity.” She assured the parent-partners that teachers at Isidore are well-trained and prepared to sensibly assist the curious minds of our dear Isidoreans.

In addition, many informative topics were covered in the orientation by select faculty members. The Introduction of Teaching and Non-Teaching Partners was presented by T. Jo and T. Neth. Then, to give our parent-partners an overview of how the school started, the History of Isidore was recalled by Teacher Kit and Teacher Dreamy, followed by Teacher Bren’s review of the school’s Vision and Mission.

During the preschool orientation, Teacher Jo discussed important information about the Preschool Department. Conversely, Teacher Neth gave a thorough explanation about the Awards and Recognition, and Teacher Weng provided precise information on the Grading System during the Grade School Orientation. The Mode of Classes will still be 5-day in-person classes, however, the Google Workspace will still be utilized if needs be as explained by Teacher Anri.

Moreover, Sir Ian also highlighted exciting school activities and enrichment programs. Teacher Lyn, on the other hand, introduced learner services and facilities that Isidoreans can enjoy.  Also, one of the school’s priorities is the safety and security of our learners, therefore, our registered nurse, Nurse Diona, discussed the health services available in school.  Then, our Guidance Coordinator, Teacher Marie keenly went over the School Policies and Regulations for the parent-partners to be guided. In an effort to also encourage healthy eating habits amongst Isidore, Teacher Princess introduced the school’s new concessionaire and explained the ordering procedures. At the end of each session, parent-partners were allowed to clarify anything as needed and ask questions as well, which were addressed accordingly. The ladies of ceremony for this year’s parent orientation are Teacher Mikah and Teacher Pat. Also present in the orientation is Teacher Ann Marie S. Bartolome, the School Administrator, who always gives her time and support in any school activity.

Even though the weather and the flood conditions in most areas are challenging at the moment, today’s virtual parent orientation marked both the parents and the school’s flexibility and resiliency. This laid down a pathway leading to constant involvement between Isidore and our parent partners in the new school year ahead.
